This dance event has happened for many years, and now they’re back for their 9th show!

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul.”

The American Modern Dancer, Martha Graham, believed that this ‘hidden language of the soul’ could express one’s inner world. However, it has become rare to see dancers express themselves through this form of communication due to the pandemic.

That is why Dance without Borders is returning for its 9th show – online, from March 28 to April 1. Dance without Borders is RCHK’s annual dance showcase which aims to promote dancing to a broader community, nurturing the arts behind dancing. However, this year Dance without Borders has added a communal element. By establishing Cantonese translated captions on their Instagram posts and audition forms, they hope to extend their platform to the local community.

The organizing team have successfully gathered ten spectacular performances, ranging from all ages, schools and genres such as Bollywood dancing and K-pop cover dances.

Dance without Borders have also invited various guest performers: Kenzo, a dancer who is known for his impactful Kpop dance covers; Ruby Chan, a contestant of Hong Kong’s idol survival programme Good Night Show 全民造星IV; and Audrey Chow, an RCHK alumnus! Chow was the leader of Dance without Borders 4.0 and is currently a dance teacher and choreographer of many studios in Hong Kong.

Since the showcase this year will be presented online, the Dance without Border’s team and the performers themselves have dedicated a lot of time into filming and editing their performances. It is certainly a show you don’t want to miss!

The performance and interviews will be posted via the Dance without borders Instagram (@rchk_dwb), be sure to check it out!
