The concept of fashion is not only to wear clothing, it is also a way to express yourself. There are also many styles in fashion like preppy, vintage, goth, decora, cyberpunk and more. All styles in fashion have their own color or aesthetics. Some people also mix the styles to express themselves better.
Some ‘’mixed styles’’ includes cybergoth and dualcora. All these styles share something in common, and it is to express yourself however you want. Take goth for example, the main concept of the style ‘’goth’’ is to show mystery, darkness, and dark romance through fashion. Since the concept features dark and mysterious themes, people usually wear purple, black, and grey for the concept. Goth fashion also adds lace, veils, and sometimes crosses and chains in its clothing. Goth is also inspired by Victorian clothing so it's common for people to wear corsets when dressing in the style. Fashion is not just about goth; there are still other styles that's popular among people. Let's talk about preppy for instance. The fashion style “preppy’’ features plaids and soft colors like pink , baby blue and yellow. Preppy also uses polka dots and stripes sometimes. Decora has a lot of accessories such as clips and bows. The style Decora also uses a lot of bright colors. Decora also uses heavy layering and garments making the overall style unique and colorful.
Fashion is part of our everyday life and it affects many people in different ways including people with high social status. For example, the wife of the US president and the former UK Queen Elizabeth II both wear different clothes. They did not look the same. But both use fashion to say something. Melania Trump liked clothes. She often wore suits and dresses and the color was nice. This made her look really modern. However, Queen Elizabeth II dressed a bit differently. She wore coats and hats. So, people could see her easily asShe wanted to stand out. Even though Melania Trump and Queen Elizabeth II had their unique styles they chose their clothes carefully. They wanted to communicate to people they were confident by using fashion. Moreover, fashion also affects our social life. For example, in cultural festivals, Chinese people always wear traditional clothing and red to celebrate the start of the year. But most importantly, fashion helps boost our self-image and confidence.
